Artist's Statement :
As an illustrator and graphic designer I enjoy creating images that communicate specific messages to specific audiences--that enhance understanding and motivate actions.
As a fine artist, I enjoy integrating the same skills to interpret and communicate messages I discover in nature. The essence of a small, intimate nature study can stir memories, longings and intimations that connect us to a timeless, universal whole. I explore the intimations in nature that compel us and move our spirit by the remarkable power of their simplicity.
Graphic Design is not my job. Fine art is not my hobby. For me, the integration of art and design is a conscious and gratifying way of seeing, working and living.

like a summer quilt
frayed and ragged
in the wake.
The urge to gather,
piece together and repair
from memory
gives way to
other thoughts
of white and silent spaces
to rest--reluctantly
and meet another season.
